Finding Our Life purpose and Dreams

Diposting oleh Anonim di 21.44 1 komentar
What is your biggest dream in LIFE? Do you have one or more than one? Do you ever feel that your dream is too big and you started to desperate and give up? I do. :) Don't worry, it is our right to have big dreams. Everyone can dream as high as they can, but in some cases, people getting older and think that dream is getting difficult and impossible to achieve because reality has come to their life. And mostly, sadly, we accept that reality. Don't we? Or.... have you ever feel confused of what is your life purpose? I do. Believe me, I bet most of the people really forget what is the purpose of Life, why they life, and what for. I'm 20 years old person and I am realizing it. Let me tell you more...

I had read some articles and found that people who are dying admitted that they regret of what they've done in their life. Some said that they regret for wasting their precious time for not doing something good for others. Some others saying that they work too hard, and not happy doing it. In my opinion, this is so unfortunate because we can only once, and I'm sad knowing those people are actually disappointed and upset. And I realize that this kind of thing can be happen on me too. There must be a chance that I also regretting my own life. I don't want this to be happen. knowing the fact that many people has their life purpose in the very beginning, but there are more people who are also lost along the way. I'm beginning to worry about myself too.
Life-Regret is the things that someday we might experience it
The simplest things I can do to keep me motivated in life are 1. Remember my life purpose. 2. Have dreams.
The first point might be the most difficult not only for me but also everyone. For people in the same age like me (20 years old), I can guarantee that some of them might not acknowledge their own life purpose. They are still in phase of finding it, confusion of their real passion, and some others even don't have it all. Honestly, I experienced the same things. There was a moment in my life when I asked myself, why does God creates me in this world? Who am I? Why does God put me into this beautiful world? And why does human exist? Do you ever questioning yourself the same thing like I did to myself? Then, keep reading.

Most of our time spent for learning, studying at schools, socializing with friends, working or just being lazy at home. But really... Are those things really meaningful and worth to do? Why do we all do those things? The only reason that I finally realize is because we are created to be a better and useful person of other people in this world.  You are created because you are supposed to be useful for your friends, family, your neighbor, your children, your student, your grandma, your teacher, or even all people in this world. We can't be selfish doing all the things we like, we love, but we forgot the meaning of your existence which is being useful. And this is exactly what I keep in mind. this keeps motivates me doing every single thing in my daily. I do it because I know it will be somehow useful for other people whether it is small or big matters.

I give you a simple example like this: I am as a student who is going to school for a better future. In this case, I want to get a high-salary job as a teacher. But, I'm not wanting it because I just want to be rich or being able to buy luxurious car so then I can brag it to my friends. BIG NO. I want to be rich so that I can have enough or even better, MUCH money then I can build a school for underprivileged students. Or if I were smart enough, I can be be a scientist that creates new drugs to heal cancer or AIDS. From these simple example, at the end, whatever you do is basically for the sake of other people/ humanity. Then, please a good person. Don't do drugs, don't steal, don't drink, just stop abusing yourself  because whether you know it or not, we are needed by others somewhere. And I believe that I could make a change to myself, develop myself to better person and bring a difference in the future. We all can do it. So, from now on, don't be selfish and start thinking about being useful to others.

The second point, be brave to dream big. By making new dreams, you will be motivated to strive and also struggle to achieve that. Your dream is your life goal. Don't worry, dreams sometimes changes along the time and also when we are get older, but you have to at least have one big dream in your life. By then, you will be able to enjoy every process achieving those dreams. Your life is meaningful, your time is precious, so, don't waste it, but use it for better reason.

In the end, your true happiness will be coming to you, and that real happiness that people want to have is actually seeing other people happy because of what you do for them. Their happiness is your happiness. Bad experience or sad moments in your life is just another step in the stairs of life-journey. You have to keep move on and on. You can't just stop or step backwards because you have your life purpose, and also those beautiful dreams of yours. Your life is not supposed to be sad because we all deserve to be happy, and we must share that happiness by being useful to others.

Live your LIFE. :')

English For Young Learners

Diposting oleh Anonim di 02.24 0 komentar

Okay kali ini tulisan tulisan di blog mulai agak ga konsisten. Kemarin, judul sama isi blog pake bahasa inggris full, sekarang judul sama isi kok bahasa gak sama. Mohon dimaafkan ya Dreamers, soalnya lagi males. Eh, jangan salah, bukan males nulisnya lho... tapi males aja mikir bahasa inggrisnya. (weew, sama aja ya?) haha. Eh, tapi ini Anja nulis jam 11 malem lho, cuma mau share apa itu EYL (English for Young Learners). So, baca nih baik2, sapa tau bermanfaat terutama buat kalian yg pengen jadi guru.

Okay, serius nih ya... EHEM!!! Best of The Best.

Ibu Rina mengajarkan 3P (Presentation, Practice, and Production).

Terima Kasih

NEC- AIESEC Indonesia New President!

Diposting oleh Anonim di 20.51 4 komentar
Last Jauary, I was in Jogjakarta for 4 days attending National Election Conference 2014 of AIESEC INDONESIA. It was hosted by AIESEC LC (Local Committee) University of Gajah Mada, Jogjakarta. Along with my other teammates in AIESEC: Udin, Jodi, Faris, Aldila, Bayu and Molly. Unfortunately, not really many AIESECer from UMM who could be delegates of NEC because of the small quota. Anyway, we went to Jogja by bus which took approximately 7 hours on the way (duh! Another silly way to hurt my *ss). The reason why we choose bus was because it is cheaper than train.

Conference was held in this hotel.
I will tell you more about the conference. The conference was held in @HOM hotel in Yogyakarta. I think this was my 9th or 10th conference so far, and I wasn’t that excited attending this conference because there were only few delegates from AIESEC UMM. But from other LCs they have more than 8-10 delegates came.

Another thing was that this conference mainly about President Election of Member Committee AIESEC Indonesia. So, basically I’m witnessing the process of the election. However, AIESEC UMM hasn’t allowed voting because were still in Official Expansion state. Entities that were allowed to vote at that time were LC Bandung, LC UI and LC Brawijaya because three of them were passed Internal Audit and became Full member LC. But the other entities were allowed to give questions to the candidates.

The candidates of the election were Ardian Widjaja, currently at that time hold the position in MC Indonesia as MC Director of Entity Development. The other candidate was Fandy Thesia, Local Committee President of AIESEC University of Indonesia. I didn’t really know both of them personally. I could say that I know them professionally in AIESEC. And both of them are great leader and AIESECer. They are also inspiring person.  I’m proud of AIESEC which creating future leaders for our beloved country, Indonesia. I believe, people like Ardian and Fandy will be a great leader in the future.

The election was hold in the second day of the conference. Unfortunately I was very sleepy during the election (my honest confession). I guess I needed more rest, because  at the night before, I slept really late and wake up so early. There were several sections of election process, such as: personal section, AIESEC knowledge section, General section, Specific Question, Panel Discussion, and The group discussion. Each section represents what type of questions given to the candidates. For example, if it is personal section, then each representative of each LC must only ask about their personal things. To ensure their motivation in life, to know what their purpose of life, to know their ambition, etc.

However, the thing that I like the most from the election process is group discussion. Here, one group LC and its member may ask some question to each candidate for certain duration given. So we can ask everything as we want. It could be personal, strategic, etc. We could know the candidate better. This section could be the most important section of all, because each LC will ask question that could be related to the condition of their LC.  So, every answer given could be correct or incorrect is depends on the group of LC itself.

All sections were finished, and then it was time for each LC to discuss their choice of who will be the next President of AIESEC Indonesia for term 2014-2015. That time, AIESEC UMM was only allowed to discuss with its own LC sister, LC University of Brawijaya. We can only suggest and give our opinion about each candidate, but we couldn’t vote. So, LC UB could consider our suggestion and also opinion. We would have democratic process of discussion. Whether it was UB or UMM, the final decision of whom was going to be chosen is depends on what we decided together. We discussed it together to decide who deserved to be president and had the opportunity to develop himself and also bring changes to AIESEC. (And here, I won’t tell you who was chosen by us, anyway. It was secret. And then, the voting process was begun. UB, UI, and Bandung gave their vote to the committee. The same like the usual election process, there were papers resembled picture of both candidate and the voters has to cross it.

While waiting for the counting process, all of delegates may have some party, we called it election party. Last year, there was no such thing. But I was glad that there was this year. That party was awesomely exciting. Did you know about schooling? Yes, it is a competition of fast drinking. Mostly people use beer. But since we are Indonesians, we would use cola for alternative.
waiting for the party
“I challenge myself to join this competition. It was time to get out from my comfort zone”. What I am saying just now was ridiculously true. There had to be a team from each local committee to compete with other teams. Each team consisted of three people. The rule of schooling is like this: the fastest team will be the winner. Who is finished their glass had to invert the glass above their head. Another condition must be fulfilled; the inverted glass must not contain any water or drop anything to the head. It means that the glass must be totally empty. The game was so fun, but our team was lost because we are not fast enough. And did you know? my chest was really in pain because I drank a lot of Soda. hiks IT'S PAINFUL AND FUN!

After the Party, it was time for the Election Annoucement.... wohoooooooooooo! I was so excited. And the elected President of AIESEC Indonesia 2014-2015 is... DRUM ROLL PLEASE....!

Finally, Ardian is the elected President of AIESEC Indonesia. I hope he could really deliver his promise and develop his leadership potential through this responsibility. I'm happy for him and wishing the best luck for AIESEC Indonesia. I could feel the hype and enthusiasm of all the members that night which reminds me the moment when I was elected as the President. :') I admit, that being president of AIESEC UMM was the best experience I ever had. I promise to tell you my election story in the next post.

Anyway, the conference wasn't end yet. We still have 2 days more. The next day, we have Member Committee Vice President (MCVP) selection. The procedure was almost the same like we did for President election. But that time, we had to select for Ardian's team member. Another honest confession, I was so sleepy. And the result of MCVP was announced directly that evening. The only MCVP who passed was Akbar from LC UPNVY, He was finally got his new role as MCD expansion. So proud of him. :') Later that night, we had another party, "Roll dance" Party. Wohooo..... Well, UMM delegates didn't prepare any dance moves. And Jodi came with an idea that we can just dance using Korean Music Video Clip "Jumping".  Okay... Korean Dance. We only had 45 minutes left for practice before the party. Until then, someone told me that AIESEC UMM got the first turn to dance. Whaaa....t?! But it's okay, we could do it anyway, even with some mistakes with the move, we were still confidence and dance well. The audience seemed excited with what we've done. (I wish I had the video) Since we had the first turn, we forgot to tell someone to record our dance. :'(

TRAVELING TO PACITAN (SRAU, KALAYAR, SOGE)

Diposting oleh Anonim di 19.25 0 komentar

At the end of January 2014, I had a wonderful moment with my friends. We went traveling to three beautiful beaches in Pacitan. It was holiday and we had a plan to go to Pacitan and visit the beach. Pacitan is famous with its beautiful beach. The famous ones are Srau and Kalayar beach. And most of the beach is so quiet and not too many people visit that beach whatsoever. I don’t really know why people are likely visit Bali or Lombok. If they can take a look more closely, there are many beaches in Java itself that are beautiful and also better than beach in Bali or Lombok. Take a look at Sempu or Balekambang in Malang (search it on Google).  I and my friends are not that mainstream and followers because we have our own perspective of what beautiful beach is. So, for us, it is unnecessary to visit Bali or Lombok this holiday. We are still able to visit beautiful beach without even spent lot of money. That’s why guys. Don’t be too main-stream. Guys, go googling and search wonderful beach near your area. You will find some. Make sure you visit all of those beaches before going to other beaches that are too far from you.

Enough chit chat…! Now, I will tell you my story when I and my friends visiting Pacitan and explore three beaches there. I went along with my AIESECer friends. They are Ari, Jodi, Udin, Molly, and Layli. We planned to stay at Molly’s house in Pacitan (Thanks Molly!) for two days. I, Udin, Jodi, and Molly were from Jogja for a national conference of AIESEC a day before. So we used a Travel (a transportation business that allowed you to call them went you need them, available in certain cities or areas.). From Jogja-Pacitan, we spent 50.000 rupiah for each people. So, it is quiet cheap, right? And it takes approximately 6 hours from Jogja to Pacitan. In the other hand, Layli and Ari departed from Malang and also used a Travel. They spent 75.000 rupiah each.  It takes 8 hours from Malang to Pacitan.
Pacitan is located in Java.

In Pacitan, we rent three motorbikes for two days. We spent total 210.000 rupiah. So, each person only spent 35.000 rupiah (Cheap!). Well, thanks to Molly. She knows where the motorbike rental is. I was surprised that Pacitan has Motorbike Rental. FYI, the road in Pacitan is quiet extreme and dangerous. If you stayed in Pacitan, and want to go to the beach, I recommend you to use a motorbike.

Day-1 Srau Beach & Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s house
The first day to start our first adventure in Pacitan, we planned to go to Srau beach. Molly said this beach is so beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see it. We spent 30 minutes on the bike (bit hurt in my b**t!). A long the way I could see beautiful view of the hills, and also the blue ocean. :”). I never saw that beautiful view before because I live in the city. LOL

Anyway, we were all so excited seeing how beautiful Srau beach was. Srau beach has white and clean sands like a paradise. The ocean was so blue-green and relaxing. The beach is quiet too. The wave was not really big but I recommend you not to swim there. The wave is still too dangerous because Srau beach located in the south part of the island. It means the sea is from Pacific Ocean which makes the wave relatively big and strong. So be careful.

Even though we had been warned by the local people near to the beach, we couldn’t hold to swim because the water was just so perfect to swim. Don’t worry, we swim in the save area which the wave wasn’t really dangerous because there was a big rock surround it.

Not only swimming, we also take a lot of pictures, playing with the sands, and also tanning. This beach is so awesome. If I have time, I will visit this beach one more time. I just love it. And If you feel thirsty, there are local people who sell fresh coconut just for 5000 rupiah. Everything cheap here, I think it is because there are not so many people know this place.

Next, after we got back from the Srau beach, we visit SBY’s house. It is located exactly in the city. It is the house where our President live when he was childhood. The house wasn’t really special, but it is old house with a several photograph of SBY. I knew where SBY sleeps when he was a child. The house reminded me with my Grandma’s house in my hometown. If you are a big fan of SBY, I recommend you to visit this place. J

Day 2- Klayar Beach & Soge Beach
The second day was also exciting. We would visit Klayar Beach located in opposite part of Srau. It takes longer time to go there. Just in case, we checked the bike and other stuff. We didn’t want something bad happened ruining our holiday. On the way, it was raining, and unfortunately we didn’t bring rain-coat. Why the hell did we forget that?! Well then we were forced to find a shelter for a while though I didn’t want to.. L Obviously, we require longer time reaching the beach

After one and a half hour on the road, we are finally arrived…..!!! Wohooo…. Klayar is wonderful. Even though many of my friends said Klayar is beautiful, I was not really impressed with the beach. I love Srau more. Klayar have the bigger wave, and totally dangerous for swimming. But it is okay for surfing though.  If I could say, Klayar has Sphinx-liked rocks and this is one reason why Klayar is unique. The sand is not that clean and white, it’s more into light brown and black sand. Honestly, I wasn’t really enjoying the beach. It was too hot for me also. And we didn’t go for swim, just for relaxing and taking pictures (a lot!)
Rocks!

Love the air of Klayar beach... Sunbathing time!

Reminds me of Bali..

Jump as you want it, guys. I just cant jump like that....

After that, we decided to go seeing another beach, Soge Beach. But, it was evening and we were afraid for coming home too late. Our travel would come picking us at 9 PM. Well, so we still decided to go but we wouldn’t stay for too long at the beach. We only see the beach from distance. The road we were taken was better and not too extreme like Srau and Kalayar. It was flat route. However, it took us around 45 minutes to reach Soge. While driving, we stop few times and took pictures. The road to Soge is look like Grand Canyon.

Soge Beach
Last day in Pacitan, we did really enjoy our moments together. I would say thanks to Layli who had the idea of traveling to Pacitan. Thanks to Molly, and her Grandma and Uncle who had been very friendly during our visit in Pacitan.

Pacitan might be small city, but it has wonderful beaches that worth to visit. And I don’t regret visiting Pacitan. I would back someday.
Nothing cant stop us... Nice holiday with you all

Being a Beswan Djarum

Diposting oleh Anonim di 06.06 2 komentar
THIS IS IT!
It is  a quotation taken from Michael Jackson's last movie title. It represents my happiness and also my big thanks for God because I finally become  Beswan Djarum on 2013 last year. (Well, you may think this post a far not-up-to-date, but I tried my best to share everything though). This is a great step I have taken to embrace my bright future as an impactful individual that bring change to my country.

So, lets check out my story :)

My selection process for Djarum Scholarship was quite difficult but I can say it wasn't that easy too. It started from administrative data submission, Psycho test, Group Discussions, and Interview. Those have its own impression for me because this is all my effort and finally I could through it all. Now, I want to write down all of the story behind this unforgettable moments, so that I will remember and thankful to the God, my Mom and Dad. And of course, my friends, brother and sisters, family for your never ending support you all gave me.

The first time I knew about Djarum Scholarship Program or Djarum Beasiswa Plus was from TV commercial. I was in senior high at that time. I just thought that it was ordinary scholarship, so I wasn't really interested. Well, that's normal. As a teen, I really aware only in Cellphone Credit, Final Exam, and how to get accepted in my favorite University, and nothing else including a scholarship. After I got accepted in and being a college student in University of Muhammadiyah Malang. I started to hear a couple information from my senior, and they recommend me to apply this program which provide not only financial support but also useful soft skill trainings for free for 1 year. Hmmm, I thought those were good point right there.

The scholarship itself only allowed a second year student to apply. So, in order to wait until the next year of college. I mostly spent my time with organization, hobbies, and studies. And fortunately I got a freelance job as a story-boarder in Malang TV. I guessed these could be a good chance for me to find a great experience and maximize my college time.  Then I met this friend, David John Charlez. He really encouraged me to join the program because he was also beswan at that time. As the first preparation, I study hard, sharing with seniors, and looking for info. I was actively seeking for on-line and physical information about the scholarship. I ensured that I wouldn't miss any info.

June 2013, the application for Djarum Scholarship was open. There were steps of selection such as administrative data submission, Psycho test, Group Discussions, and Interview. These were my challenges. And thank God, a few weeks after the first administrative collection, I got an email that I passed administrative selection, and I am allowed to attend the second phase of selection that was Psychotest
got the email and I print it out

It was time. The psychotest took place in DOME, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Psychotest was the most important selection because there would be so many students that eliminated through this part. From thousands, maybe the committee only take 50-100 students. In each University, the quota is different. In Malang, followed wih students from Brawijawa, UM, Merdeka, and UMM. BEfore the test began, the committe played the profil video of Djarum Scholarship, my heart was beating so fast. I was getting nerveous. I know my reaction was too much. This is my reaction facing competition. I always want to be the first, but I am afraid of failure and mistakes. This is my fear. "But not this time. You are strong, You can" I said.

The second test would be hold in 20th August 2013, and there were 2-3 weeks to prepare the test, so I didnt wast my holiday. At home, I spent my time to excercise on psychotest questions. I  just made my brain to be ready to face the questions later. Because in psychotest, what we need are concentreation and speed, so
Test tools given from the committee

Me, ready for the test
Test started, There were types of questions. There were math, picture tree, warteg test, logic, and science. I concentrated to the questions, I could fee my hand was getting cold. I listed the instructions carefuly. The test tooks more than 2 hours. And after the test, waiting for the result. We were all surprised with Indonesian's famous band, Andra and The Backbone. They were guess star for Djarum to help the applicants felt better because all of us were nerveous.
The band was the best surprise for all applicants

After the band finished playing, it was time to announce who were passed the test. And....
7TFKM ANJA AROWANA EPISCIA LIVIANA
My number and Name were shown on the big screen. I passed the second test, and my limbs were feel so weak at that time. I hugged my friends who didn't pass this part, and support them that their effort wasn't end there because God never wrong.

In the same day, the committee asked us to gather and prepare to do the next test. Focus Group Discussion would be hold in BAU building, UMM. At that time, I met new friends from UMM, and also other Universities. At least, I got friends to lessen my nervous.

When the FGD started, we all were divided to several groups consisting of 10 ten students. My group members were from Merdeka University, Malang University. The committee gave each groups  a different article taken from newspaper. Each group had to presents the result of their discussion in front of the forum and the assessor. And other groups might deliver the questions. However, I enjoyed the process started from discussion until the presentation. I was actively involved in the discussion and presented some ideas.

The evening, the committee announced that there were no elimination in this selection. So all students pass to the Interview selection for the next day. Even though I experienced to be interviewed or interview people, I was still nervous and worry about the next day's interview. I read some interview tips on Google, and chose the best formal clothes. I decided to slept earlier, calm down my head, and eats healthy foods, and drank a lot of water.
The next day, exactly at 12 PM I came to the interview. In fact, the interviewer only asked my about common things about me like identity, my life goal and purpose. The reason why I choose Djarum, what would I do if I selected. etc. After the interview, the result will be announced at 31st August 2013. Well, I need to wait.

The time had come, and Thank God I was really happy and proud to myself. I PASS and SELECTED to be one of the Djarum Scholarship Grantee or usually called as Beswan. I called my mom and dad to tell them the good news. I texted my friends and also my other familites & realtives.
Congratulations you are now Beswan Djarum
For all students and friends who want to apply to be the next Beswan, I wish you the best luck. Please prepare yourself from now on. Being a Beswan is the the one-lifetime-chance, you had not miss it. If you have questions or just want to share, please write the comment below.
